Red Gum

Large hardwood of coastal districts from Warragul VIC to Cairns district in NTH QLD. Sometimes extending onto adjacent tablelands. Heartwood red. Sapwood noticeably paler. Texture moderately coarse and even. Grain often interlocked. Heartwood very durable. Used for house framing, sleepers, flooring, joinery, wharf construction, bridge construction, outdoor furniture, turnery, fencing and structural plywood.

  • Bowl – Red gum No.22

    This bowl is made from salvaged wood from the Coffs Coast. Very unusual to find Red Gum in Coffs harbour, as it is not usually found on the Coast. A turned rectangular shape making it as unusual as where the timber originates. The carved and burnt pattern compliments the gorgeous colour of the Red Gum.
