This bowl is turned ‘green’, which is when the wood contains water content. So it is fresh cut and turned within 2 weeks of being felled. The gentle warping occurs as a result of the timber drying out a shrinking. Creating very unique shapes that nature provides. Handcrafted by David Barden, Wood We Create.

Hand turned from Pecan wood, locally sourced and salvaged from the Coffs Harbour area. The bowl was turned ‘green’ and if you look closely you will see the warped edge that is produced as the timber shrinks in the drying process. It has a hand rubbed oil finish to protect and highlight the natural colours of the wood. Handcrafted by David Barden.
