  • Vessel – Pecan with carved and burnt pattern No.7

This Pecan Vessel is made from locally sourced, salvaged timber from the Coffs Harbour area. The vessel has areas around the outside that have been carved to create a relief area that is then burnt black to produce a bold contrast between the two surfaces. The piece is then completed with a hand rubbed oil finish that protects and beautifies the texture and colour of the timber. Handcrafted by David Barden.

    Dimensions – 140mm diameter x 165mm high approx.

  • Vessel – Silky Oak with organic Carved outside. No.8

The vessel is made from locally sourced, salvage timber from the Coffs Harbour area. The organic feel to the outside carved area conjures up many images we see in nature everyday. The grain in Silky Oak never ceases to amaze with its medullary always present. Finally completed with a hand rubbed oil finish to protect and beautify. Handcrafted by David Barden.

    Dimensions – 110mm diameter x 145mm high approx.

  • Vessel – Silky Oak with piercing. No.9

Turned from locally sourced, salvage wood from the Coffs Harbour area. It is turned ‘green’ only days after the tree was removed, due to storm damage. The edge is slightly warped, which is a result of the wood drying and shrinking. Nature does its thing here creating a wavy shaped rim. The wall section, or thickness, of this piece is approx. 1.2mm. The wall is then pierced using a rotary carver. Each hole individually cut out to create the pattern. The hand rubbed oil finish then highlights the colours and textures of the final piece. Handcrafted by David Barden.

    Dimensions – 90mm diameter x 110mm high approx.
