This page is where we’ll take you behind the scenes — from new pieces taking shape on the lathe to fresh designs for the gallery and online store. We’ll also share the stories behind the timbers we use, where they came from, and the inspiration that guides each handcrafted piece.

Woodwork — and especially woodturning — has been a passion of mine for many years. It began back in high school, learning the basics of timber and traditional hand tools like chisels and planes. After leaving school, I started a career in Engineering Patternmaking, which took my understanding of precision and craftsmanship to another level. The tolerances and accuracy expected seemed outrageous at first, but over time I learned to slow down, focus, and refine my skills — lessons that continue to shape every piece I make today.

Through Timber Tales, I look forward to sharing more of that journey with you — the process, the stories, and the beauty of timber that continues to inspire me every day.
